A descendant of four generations of distinguished physicians, Dr. Ting’s great-grandfather served as attending physician to the last Emperor of Shanghai, and her grandfather founded the city’s first teaching hospital. Dr. Ting’s siblings have continued the family legacy by establishing well-known traditional Chinese medical practices around the world. Dr. Ting received the degree of Doctor of Oriental Medicine from the Traditional Medical College of Shanghai in 1969, and went on to specialize in infectious diseases at Zai Pou hospital. Over the course of her career, she has treated more than 140,000 patients on two continents. In addition to her prolific medical expertise, Esther has survived her own set of life challenges. As a young adult she conquered diphtheria, tuberculosis and cancer. But Esther’s most difficult obstacle came after her activist father’s forced exile and eventual death during China’s Cultural Revolution. These compelling milestones have profoundly influenced her commitment to dedicate her life to healing. Dr. Ting arrived in Los Angeles in 1984, and since has devoted her life to expanding | |||
